this post inspired me to take pictures of myself with my kids, as much as i may be critical of myself (especially in photographs) i want to be there in the memories that pictures help to capture.
that being said, i want to talk about miles. this boy is so special. he is my pal.
he is so aware and concerned about others' feelings, especially in our family. he HATES it when his little brother(s) get in trouble. he often prefaces things he says to me with "well, i don't want to hurt your feelings, but..."
and he is so sincere. such a sweetheart!
there are so many things i could say about him, but there is one thing i wanted to remember.
the other day we were talking and he asked me why i don't wear lipstick or paint my fingernails. after my explanation he still wasn't satisfied. he said he thought it was something wives should do. (ha!) and he said that he is going to marry a wife that wears lipstick and nail polish.
he's said that before, a looong time ago, so i guess this reinforces the seriousness of his intentions. it's so funny to me for so many reasons. i just hope that if his wife DOES wear lipstick, she's cool with my bare lips and nails!

heehee, this made me giggle! But not in that order. First, I just loved the pictures (YAY!!!) and second, I had to awwwww about how sweet Miley is and last I had to giggle. :) Love you guys SOOOO much and wish so much we lived even closer than we do...

You are the type of person that doesn't need to paint her nails or put lipstick on because you are GORGEOUS!! I love miles too!! What a sweetheart he is, he was cracking me up the other night in your van(good times). You have done an amazing job with him (and the other boys too). I love those picures, you inspire me:)
