colorado trip- aquarium

we took a little trip to colorado, to celebrate mr. o's birthday and visit patsy. it was such a fun trip, so i am breaking it up into four posts and alternating them with previews of my bazaar goods!

our first outing was to the aquarium in denver.

leo was very compliant, posing for me. i liked the floors of the aquarium so much, they were cement, treated with something to color it and make it glossy. so pretty, and perfect for the setting!

the boys loved this place. we moved through different areas and types of fish- rivers and lakes, oceans, and regions. it was really cool!

the boys loved high-fiving the divers through the glass in this huge tank. and check out that giant fish heading for my baby! yikes.

i was spellbound by some of the ethereal plants and animals. i loved the bright colors, and my favorites were the sea turtles, the sea horses, and the jellies. too bad i didn't get very good pictures of those.

there was a jungle section with pirhanas and all sorts of stuff, like....

tigers! finn was so excited- he loves tigers. we had no idea we'd be seeing tigers at an aquarium, but there they were, with a waterfall and a pool of fish right there in their enclosure!

this aquarium made me think of my sister. i know she would love to have something like this for her fish, with all sorts of beautiful, live plants.

so this is what i was staring at while the boys were shark watching. i am amazed at the variety of life on this earth. what a creative Father we have!

and, as icing on the cake, as we were getting ready to leave, i spotted some employees holding and talking about this sloth!! i couldn't believe my luck. i love sloths! it was so awesome to be so close to one, and be able to watch it for awhile. i was itching to hold it, so bad!

bottom line: the denver aquarium is pretty amazing.. so glad we got to go!
