august was one crazy, busy month!
there were family reunions, my dad retired & we threw a surprise picnic where all my sisters (some from across the country, even) showed up to celebrate, and then we had a few milestones:
he loved the chart and still asks to use it.
(fyi- it ended up taking much longer than the week the chart depicts!)
also, the end of the month saw our oldest son off to school
miles was really excited and ready for kindergarten. he was getting so bored at home while finn napped & i tried to get things done, so him being in afternoon kindergarten is perfect. he is at school while finn takes his nap and then they don't even miss each other, and so far it even seems like they play better together now!
here's the official first-day-of-school picture. miles takes things pretty seriously, as those who know him can attest!

it wasn't too hard to convince him that from then on it would be shorts and short-sleeved shirts till the weather cooled!
i was very nostalgic as i anticipated the start of school for our family- it's a big change for us, and the time of relatively no schedule and nowhere to be, living carefree and spontaneously was ending. so i was surprised that the first day felt somewhat anti-climactic.
no tears for me!
(although wrangling the other boys was a distraction)

What big boys you have!!! Those are HUGE milestones! HUGE! Love that pic of Finny-- reminds me of you with the thumb-- lol! And Miley's such a doll. Glad to hear about the school-thing. I think maybe I'll be ready for it next year, as will Audrey...
Sure love you, Evie! And your perfect family too! xoxoxo to you all!
so glad that it worked with Finn! And yes, you totally have to tweak different things for different kids. That is a cute pic with him and his alligator! And a darling one of Miles going to kindergarten! I love the clothes he picked out, and glad that the transition has been good so far!
ADORABLE picture of Finn!! I am so proud of him and you (little boy underwear is sooooo cute). Now we need to find a time to take all of the kids to IKEA together. I miss our summer get togethers:(.
I love that picure of miles, he is so cute when he is serious like that! Congrats on Kindergarten miles! You are doing a fabulous job as a mom, eve!
