..but the best gift we received this christmas was from the ramsays, and i just had to show it off here.please no offense to anyone else- we loved your gifts, too, but you have to admit, you can't top the amount of time and effort involved in making this amazing block set.
it is made from cedar, which as you know smells delicious. i have been super tempted to just spread the blocks all around in our closet and keep them there.
landon made equal amounts of dark & light colored blocks, and had them all in a checkerboard pattern. he even thought to give us extras for when some would inevitably go missing.
we were floored by the workmanship that went into this, and so very grateful that they thought of us while they were making a set for their boys. and all this while landon was pulling all-nighters helping mr. o get our house ready to move in!
my favorite is the dovetail joints, but there are so many amazing details and aspects of this box, it is sure to be a treasured family heirloom.

Homemade personal gifts are by far the best...no offense to anyone who gives store bought gifts (that's me!)...they're great too. But there is something special about something like this gift.
