earrings

so.. i have been admiring these earrings on etsy for months. when i first came accross them, i asked mr. o if he thought he could make them. he said he didn't have the tools or stong enough wood. i gave up on the idea and put it out of my mind.

then a friend of ours was making beds for his boys & mr. o was helping. i guess landon had some wood he had gotten in south africa that was really light and strong (and beautiful- this is the natural color of the wood, it's not stained, just polished). he let mr. o use it and voila! the most beautiful, meaningful earrings i have ever owned. he gave them to me for my birthday on saturday and i was so suprised!

aren't i the luckiest!? i have only taken them off to sleep since i got them, and although my sweet mother-in-law got me the cutest hummingbird earrings from the bazaar, i don't know when they will make their debut! (i'm still so happy she got them, though.)
