crowns and wallets

with two spring birthdays, i have been busy making and planning the last few weeks.

i've wanted the boys to have felt crowns, but since i made a paper one for miles (you can see it in this post) when he turned one, and thought i made it pretty adjustable (i was wrong) i put the idea aside.

until this year.

i got the pattern from this book, and had fun designing them. finn saw some turtle ribbon at the fabric store and loved it, so his was based on that.

miles has been bugging me to make him a wallet ever since i got a new one and his grandma gave him a two dollar bill. so i made one up in time to wrap up for his birthday, and decided finn might as well have one, too!

i don't predict much use out of them in the near future, but at least he can have a place to keep his money and feel like he's in charge of it. finn's will be tucked away in a drawer i'm sure, once the novelty has worn off.
