we are out and enjoying the amazing weather today in our own ways: miles is catching bugs (for the first time, if you can believe!) mr. o is working hard on our long-neglected yard, and i am actually making progress on some projects.
i finally whipped up a log pillow, and i have to say it turned out as good as i had hoped (excepting the lumpy, recycling stuffing...)
now, i could've made our bed for this picture, but decided to work the disheveld look!
i will be making more pillows in the next little while for the bed & will show them all off properly when they are finished.
this is going to be the state of the top of our dresser for the forseeable future as i am also working on a huge, very intimidating painting for our living room. remember?
i was fairly happy with the blue for the sky, but then i moved on to the clouds and i am so discouraged. i don't know what i was thinking, that i could paint something presentable.. but i figure i will do my best and keep working at it until it looks okay, and if not, just start over again and do something totally abstract.i'll keep you posted!

You can do it! You have art in your blood so keep going on the painting. I'm excited to see what you create.
clouds are fun in oils, because its all about blending. LOTS of blending to get the puffy soft look. My first oil painting ever was of a cloud/sunset, you can totally do it. But if you keep your canvas moist, you should be able to do the same with acrylics too (try a very misty spray bottle). Or you could also paint oil on top of acrylics (just not acrylics over oil) just for the clouds. (You can borrow mine if you want, since you gave me all of yours!) Don't psych yourself out though, you can totally do it.
Eve look at those pillows, you rock!! Miles looks so cute with that bug, doese he still have it? Your picture is going to turn out amazing, just like everything you do.
