some happy places
i don't get on facebook much at all (more like never). i don't tweet. i don't have an iphone, or do instagram. not on pinterest, even.
but, i love to read blogs! all sorts.
here are some of my faves:
i've read this one for years. since finn was an infant, at least, and it remains one of my very favorite because it's real, well-rounded, and just beautiful. thoughtful, varied, stylish and all-around good. plus, her regular friday posts have been very enlightening and humbling.
this one is newer to me, but i am super crazy about. it has inspired the influx of posting in the past months, and my vintage happy posts in particular. i love everything about it, and could get lost there happily for hours. the wedding pictures were magical. (proof of the previous sentence!)
this one is a new one for me in the last year or so, but it was total infatuation from the beginning. beauty & style are a powerful combination.
this is an old one, that has grown on me a lot. maybe a lot of you already read it. undeniable talent. incredible honesty. you just have to love her. you have to. plus, i met her IRL (that means in real life, ya know) once and she was super sweet. that sealed the deal.
here is another new-to-me. this one makes me ponder. it opens my mind, in a natural-to-me way. so so good. i always feel better having spent time here.
i've also gotten tangled up in this blog (from this post). unbelievably adorable.
sometimes when i surf too much, i get depressed and frustrated with myself. i need to exercise more self control. but other times, i stumble across so many wonderful things and i fill up with happy and i want to love everyone in the whole world. i feel like everyone is beautiful and wonderful and good, and i feel hope and so much love. it is so fleeting and rare, but i appreciate it so much. i need times like that to offset the empty and depressing and deflating feelings that come with too much humanity sometimes, you know?
i also feel like that with my boys. i love them so much. i want to breathe them in, and i want to savor these days when they are little. i mess up a lot, and they are so forgiving. i want to be the best for them.
life can be so good sometimes. i'm thankful for that, because it's never ALL good.
what makes you so happy?

What makes me so happy? Bed time (ours and the kids'), vanilla greek yogurt with grapes, memories of Hungary, sunsets, talking with friends, music, an empty sink, clean floors, made beds, a full tank of gas, kindness of strangers, being kind to strangers, falling asleep with Dave by my side, waking up with him by my side, family, naps, food, and of course the gospel.
