little two

leo had quite the birthday- we managed to pack in loads of fun!
and here are loads of pictures to prove it!

we always start out the morning with presents opened on our bed- first things first! i am sad to think that this tradition can't last when our mornings become more rushed & early..

what's that you say? fireworks for a two-year-old?? we couldn't help ourselves. they're legal in utah, since the day after leo's birthday is a holiday, so we're making it a tradition!

after presents, we headed to the park for a picnic. (leo's giant balloon is from darlybird)

there's a huge pine tree at the park that the boys love to play under. i love it that this holds just as much attraction as the playground.

leo's going in to join his brothers. they built a little rock "house" under there!

here's the birthday boy on the swing. this little guy just ate up all the attention he was getting throughout the day- he loved it! every once in awhile he'd ask us to sing to him, but we usually didn't need prompting! his older brothers were all about making him feel special all day.

i tell you there are perks to having a birthday close to a holiday! after naps, we headed to the carnival on main street and let the boys go on a few rides. another birthday tradition for leo, i'm sure!

after the carnival we went to dinner. free ice cream for the birthday boy!

and then home for cake with grandma and grandpa. leo was really excited for his cake. he kept saying "happy birthday CAKE!!!" so enthusiastically.

then we stayed up late for leo's little birthday firework extravaganza. of course he loved it. he was so happy all day, and fell asleep almost instantly after this. it was a long, happy birthday!

I love the giant balloon! (and I remember that awesome camp chair too!) So glad you still have it. What a great birthday, so cool to be able to take advantage of fireworks and other close festivities for it!
