the elusive mr. o

just to clear things up, some frequently (well, relatively) asked questions about the mister:

why is he not in pictures? when i started this blog, my husband asked me not to post pictures of his face, or use his real name, or our last name. it mostly has to do with his line of work.
he also set some obvious boundaries like being careful not to post pictures of our house that show the house number, disclose our address, or let people know when we'd be out of town. (i made an exception about being in japan, since we had family staying in our home while we were gone.)
to keep it real, and because i like to trust people, i opted to use my real name (eve) and our boys' real names. sometimes i second-guess that, but i've never really had a reason to.

why is he called mr. overstreet? going along with not using his name, i had to call him something!
my dad used to call me evie ivy overstreet sometimes as a nickname, and when i signed up on etsy years ago, i casually entered that as my user name (first time using it, by the way) not knowing that it would eventually become my shop name- back then your user name being your shop name was a mandatory thing. one (minor) reason for starting this blog was to publicize my shop, so i named it accordingly.
so, short version: he's my mister, and since we're not using our last name, we'll use my nickname!
(kind of fun, since i took on his name at marriage, but here he's taken mine! sort of...)

yeah, that sums it up. just two questions!

i posted a request for privacy when i first started blogging, but it bears repeating. if you link to this blog (thank you!) or happen to blog about us, please use the alias of overstreets, even if you know our name and even if it messes up your list format (sorry!). the mister just doesn't relish the ability to google his name and find anything too personal. which this blog is.
so, thank you for respecting that!
