after two nights in san diego, we headed to palos verdes to stay with my aunt and uncle.
we hardly arrived before my very accomadating aunt whisked us away to the beach, catering to our very desire.

we accessed the beach through their beach club, hiking down lots of stairs and sand. it was breathtaking!

here is my fun-loving, energetic aunt playing in the surf with miles. we had such a fun time at the beach with her.

mr. o waded waaay out into the waves for this shot of us in the distance on the beach. i was trying to share a pomegranate without getting it sandy, and miles and my aunt were making an elaborate sand castle & village.

another view of the beach. it was a beautiful, very warm day.

the next morning we headed to another spot to explore the tide pools. we went at the wrong time and had a challanging time getting to a good spot. mr. o ended up taking one of us across a particular place at a time, between huge waves. what an adventure with two little boys!

but we had the hard-to-get spot to ourselves, at least, and saw all sorts of cool sea life. we stripped finn down to his diaper with the idea that he could wade/sit in the shallow, warm pools, but he wasn't so keen on the idea.

just a few of the many starfish to be seen.. (and in their
real habitat, too!)

accross from the tide pools was this amazing church made of glass. the walls, ceiling and all were clear and it was surrounded by trees. it was stunning. we couldn't go inside due to a wedding going on, but that almost made it all the more romantic. i loved the newlyweds getaway car, it was a tiny black vintage beauty.
and now here we are in the biting cold! but i am so happy i got to see the ocean this year, we had such a great time and were very lucky to have many generous and accomadating relatives to make it all possible.
definately our best trip in a long long time!

I am so glad for you!! I love the family picture, and the awesome starfish too... very cool, thanks for sharing.
That family picture is SOOOOO darling! Especially with the explanation about Finn-- what a doll! The starfish pic was awesome too and I loved the pic/description of that church too. And lucky about Aunt Remi! What a sweetheart... I'm so happy for you too-- especially in light of your current stresses. Just look at all this often and remember it all during this temporary situation of now... xoxo!!!
How BEAUTIFUL!!! I want to go where you were. You must be a great photographer or have a great camera. Those pictures are all so breathtaking.
Have you found a house yet?
