so yesterday i got to go shopping by myself (i got to go on saturday, too.. more on that later!). i went to DI and it was like i hit the jackpot in every department! it was such a thrill, i can't even tell you!

this awesome track jacket is mr. o's favorite. it's a little small for miles, though, and won't fit finn for awhile.
then onto the domestics department where i scored this velvet curtain i am going to use as a tablecloth for the next beehive bazaar (coming up in just a few short months), and this retro muppets pillowcase. i got the other sweet pillowcase on a different trip, but had to include it. now i just have to think of some way to use them!

aren't these pants awesome? i think they might be girls' pants, but i won't tell mr. o.. i think they can be for boys, too- do you?

next, on to the childrens books. this was super exciting because i found so many great books, all for 50 cents each! i got 9 total, and some i can't name because they are duplicates for me & i'll be giving them to some lucky neices/nephews for birthday presents. let me just say their moms will be thrilled! the highlight for me was when i found 'morris's dissapearing bag' by rosemary wells. this has been on miles' amazon wish list for a long time, and it's been added to my cart several times, only to be rationalized back out. i couldn't believe my luck!
now for my christmas scores:
these awesome retro felt stockings. i was originally just going to get the sneaker ones, but they were so cheap so i just got all of them. when i got home i realised they weren't handmade like i'd thought- i found a little tag that said they were from a company in orem, utah and made in the 70's.
and can you believe this?! this is the grand daddy of all my finds that day. it was like a movie- i saw it across the isle & my heart leapt into my throat. there were crowds of people and carts between us and i was praying that no one else would see or take it before i could get to it. i negotiated between the carts, people, and workers like a maze, and quick as lightning i grabbed it up!

what a find, eh?! i am so pleased with it. the top part is missing (the fan & candle holders) but i am confidant mr. o can rig something up. i need to scrape some wax off and clean it a bit, and there are 2 missing little figures, an angel and maybe a camel or something on the bottom teir. (well, now there are 6 missing, since miles got to it. but at least i can glue those 4 back on!) it is so ironic, because this christmas i was really wishing we had gotten stuff like this when we went to germany in 2005.
i got this cute embroidered ginham tablecloth, too. it is a small square size, just perfect for our table!
can you believe the luck!?
