dungarees

so, here is an instance where i completely lost my mind over something and had to have it. i saw this blog post and wondered if the company had anything for boys.

the few things they did have were completely irresistable. and monday morning brought a package from england to my doorstep:

this company is so cool, they have been around since the 70's and totally remind me of the clothes we used to wear as kids. i am such a sucker for vintage kids clothes. their concept is really cool, too, they screenprint the pattern right onto the cloth, so you just cut it out and sew. i'll be making these for miles' birthday, and the picture at the top of this post (from their website) makes me want to grow his hair out again.

if you are as smitten with these as i am, check out clothkits (if you dare). they have adorable things for little (and big) girls, too. the dungarees they offer are only for size 2-4, otherwise i think i would've gotten them for finn. you can buy them ready-made as well, but i couldn't quite swallow that price, it was steep enough as is with the pounds to dollars conversion!

please don't think less of me for my lack of self control!

Parents Should Lovingly Correct a Child’s Actions
Posted: 06 Feb 2009 01:00 AM CST
“When a child needs correction, you might ask yourself, ‘What can I say or do that would persuade him or her to choose a better way?’ When giving necessary correction, do it quietly, privately, lovingly, and not publicly. If a rebuke is required, show an increase of love promptly so that seeds of resentment may not remain. To be persuasive, your love must be sincere and your teachings based on divine doctrine and correct principles.”
